緣起--
週末從神仙谷快樂遊回來後
這個禮拜天受宇琪同學之邀
帶她一起去上主日學玩票一下
我則參加了陌生好久的主日崇拜(以前求學時曾加入青年團契)
因受了些"聖靈感動"
遂臨摹麥帥之名作A Father's Prayer架構
完成本篇宇琪畢業前祈禱文 分享諸親友
獻給 宇琪和她的童伴們
主啊 請陶冶我的孩子
使他成為一個內涵豐厚的人 能夠知道自己什麼時候是淺薄的
使他成為一個思維清明的人 能夠在迷惑的時候可以渡己及人
使他在橫逆和挫折之中 能夠認清處境 勇於面對困厄而不逃避
使他在成功和歡喜之際 能夠飲水思源 樂於分享和幫助別人
主啊 請陶冶我的孩子
使他不要以虛幻空泛的理想代替認真踏實的努力
使他能夠嚮往追求善知識的殿堂 而不貪戀名牌精品香車豪宅
使他能夠認識生命意義的底蘊本質 並且曉得宇宙萬物乃互相效力
我祈求祢 不要引導他走上好逸惡勞的草莓族之路
而要讓他經歷凡夫俗子的嚴格磨練和險峻挑戰
讓他藉此體驗到黎民百姓的人間疾苦和世事無常
讓他藉此學習對弱勢無助者付出適切的關懷與援手
主啊 請陶冶我的孩子
使他身心靈和諧平衡 情操純潔
在企圖更上一層樓之前 先能站穩自己的腳步
對未來充滿希望 感恩過去 珍惜活在當下的幸福
在他把以上諸點都已領略之後
還請賜給他足夠的幽默感和同理心
使他永遠保持樂觀積極的態度 敏銳宏觀的視野 慈悲喜捨的情懷
請賜給他真誠謙遜的處世哲學
使他永遠記得"偉大就是充實 充實就是美 美就是心中有愛"
然後 作為父親的我 才敢低聲說道:「吾已不虛此生，無憾矣！」
這樣禱告
以天父之名求 阿們

Build me a son, O Lord, who will be strong enough to know when he is weak, and brave enough to face himself when he is afraid; one who will be proud and unbending in honest defeat, and humble and gentle in victory.
Build me a son whose wishbone will not be where his backbone should be; a son who will know Thee- and that to know himself is the foundation stone of knowledge. Lead him, I pray, not in the path of ease and comfort, but under the stress and spur of difficulties and challenge. Here let him learn to stand up in the storm; here let him learn compassion for those who fail.
Build me a son whose heart will be clear, whose goal will be high; a son who will master himself before he seeks to master other men; one who will learn to laugh, yet never forget how to weep; one who will reach into th e future, yet never forget the past. And after all these things are his, add, I pray, enough of a sense of humor,so that he may always be serious , yet never forget take himself too seriously.
Give him humility, so that he may always remember the simplicity of true greatness, the open mind of true wisdom, the meekness of true strength.
Then, I, his father, will dare to whisper, “I have not lived in vain! “
